Magento agencies: what you need to know

As an entrepreneur with a very new start up I was very interested in what magento agency I should use. As everyone knows ecommerce is the wave of the future and getting new customers, and satisfying returning customers is the lifeblood of any startup. Choosing the right magento agency for ecommerce is as important as a brick and mortar store choosing an architect, and I wanted to get it right the first time, because, as you know, time is of the essence for any ecommerce startup. As I did my research about magento agencies I became aware that they are all definitely not created equal. I wanted to make sure the agency I chose was able to scale the way I wanted, and today i will pass on some tips in the following article titled magento agencies: what you need to know.

First of all, let’s talk a little about what magenta is and what it does. Magento is an ecommerce platform built on open source technology which provides online merchants with a flexible shopping cart system, as well as control over the look, content and functionality of their online store. Magento offers powerful marketing, search engine optimization, and catalog-management tools. Many of the biggest companies in the world use magenta, not just online companies either. In fact, it is the first choice of big ecommerce retailers such as Pepsi, Levis, Macy’s and many others. Getting the right agency is vitally important in scaling your business to your desired goals, and making sure that company has a proven track record is equally important.

Some advice I would impart before any entrepreneur starts their search for the right magento agency is to have a clear understanding of your needs. Determine the requirements; it is better to write down everything from scratch so that you can fetch it in the future whenever required. Your requirements should include a number of your products ranging from customer needs, market insights, and competitors. Analyze your business needs based on the necessary data and have a clear vision about what type of ecommerce store you need. When the requirements are complex, it becomes necessary that the store owners set up a solid team that is ecommerce friendly, business intelligence and has a marketing background for taking care of the online business.

One thing I learned the hard way is although magento is designed to be utilized as an application by someone who isn’t a developer, you will be better served to let a professional handle your needs in this regard. The Magento community is extremely large and very helpful. However, at some point the average person is going to hit a wall, and that’s when you realize you should have gone with an agency from the beginning. So, don’t be like me, utilize the experts from the start and save yourself a huge headache. The last thing you want is to get halfway down the road and only then realize you can’t get to the finish line. Trust me, let the people who know what they are doing handle this rather technical aspect of your startup.

When considering a Magento development agency size and reputation is a good indicator of quality, it is vital to know whether the Magento web development company possesses enough resources and skills to achieve your ecommerce goals. Find out things like how long they have been in business, reputation, and reviews of the Magento agencies that you have shortlisted. Sometimes looking at reviews online is enough, but with something as important as your life’s work, it’s best to do some in-person scouting. Although by in-person in my case that meant skype meeting and emails. Once you feel comfortable with your agency the real business of getting your startup off the ground begins. At that point all your hard work will come together and your goals will begin to dovetail with your magento agencies skillset and then you are off to the races.
