David Reagan from Atlanta Shares 5 Changes You Can Make in Your Life to Instantly Improve Your Health

From your diet to your social life, your daily habits have a direct impact on your health. If you’re seeking to lead a healthier lifestyle, you can benefit from introducing certain changes in your life, which are sure to improve your wellbeing.

Here are 5 changes as recommended by David Reagan – Atlanta-based personal trainer – that everybody can make in their lives to improve physical and mental health:

Get Outside

The great outdoors has so much to offer besides its vast beauty. Simply take a 20-minute break to get outside daily and you will see your health improve. You will get the chance to absorb some Vitamin D while soaking up the sun and breathe in the fresh air. Taking a brisk walk or run, or even a bike ride will improve your cardiovascular health as well as your mood and your overall health. This is a great way to get the family involved, too. You can walk or bike ride to the park or any other attraction for some quality time while moving your bodies and reaping the many benefits of being outside as a family.

Add Some Freshness to Your Diet

If you are used to consuming sugary snacks and drinks, challenge yourself to swap them out with fresh substitutes. A nice, juicy peach is a delicious and healthy choice for a substitute dessert. Instead of soda, try sparkling water with a splash of fresh-squeezed orange juice. These are small changes that will maintain the sweetness you are craving without the added sugar.

Get Some Sleep

Getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night is so important for your health. Increase your sleep each night, even by 30 minutes, and you will see how much better you feel. If you scroll social media until the wee hours of the morning each time you lay down in bed, set an alarm on your phone. When it goes off, it’s time to put the phone down and get some ZZZs! Sleep has been proven to help with weight loss, boosting mood, protecting the heart, and even staves off Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.

Limit Dining Out

Trust us, we love a good takeout or delivery meal. Nothing beats the convenience. But, in order to improve your health, try to cut back on dining out. Cook at home instead. This will allow you to have some fun and experiment with fresh, new ingredients while controlling portions and knowing exactly what you are putting in your body.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask For Help

Whether you are struggling with mental or physical help, reach out. Maybe you are trying to be healthier but you simply don’t know where to start. Or you feel intimidated by the gym or just can’t find a diet plan that you like. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety or another mental health issue. Reach out to a friend, a family member, or a trained professional. They can help you get back on your feet and start feeling like the healthiest, best version of yourself.

Changing your life for the better does not have to be done all at once nor does it have to be done in gigantic steps. Start by trying all or some of the above steps and you will see how much better and healthier you feel and that you will truly want to keep it going.
