7 Ways to Create a Buzz Around Your Business

Do you already have an established business but have noticed that things have slowed down a little? Perhaps you feel like your sales could do with a boost? Creating a bit of hype around your business is a great way to pick things up a bit, generate new interest, and potentially increase your sales rates.

From running a competition to spending more time focussing on social media campaigns, there are many ways to go about it. Here are 7 ways to create a buzz around your business.

Sponsorship

This works particularly well if you are trying to appeal to a local market. Spending a little bit of money sponsoring a local team or helping a local cause could generate some hype, and get your business recognized. Local clientele can make a difference, so it is a good idea to find out what opportunities might be available. Perhaps you can donate some of your products to a raffle and have your company name printed on the tickets. Maybe you could donate towards the local soccer teams’ shirts or do a charity run for the food bank. Giving back to the community is always a nice thing to do and can generate a buzz around your company at the same time.

Promotional videos

Promotional videos are a great way to add some hype around your business. Whether you make your own from scratch or use a Facebook video ad creator or similar, a video can make a big impact. Videos can create a personal touch and let your audience get to know the face behind the business. They also deliver a message that bog-standard text or photography can’t always achieve. It doesn’t need to take long to create a video, but the impact it can have on future sales could be substantial.

Scratch cards

Scratch cards are a fabulous way to do something a bit different. Many businesses put a scratch card in with each order and offer prizes such as discounts, BOGOF deals, or free personalization with each item purchased. Customers love something a bit different, so it’s a great way to increase your repeat business potential for a very small cost. You can buy bespoke scratch cards, or if you have access to a printer, keep your costs to a minimum and make your own.

Sale

Who doesn’t love a bargain? Running a sale or having limited time prices added to your products might generate a buzz for your business. A sale is a great way to get rid of products that have either been hanging around for longer than you might like or to get rid of seasonal stock that you have been left with. Holding stock for a long time can affect your frame of mind and stop you focussing ahead so, taking a hit on the price to get a sale isn’t always a bad thing. It can lead to future sales too. If a customer buys a product from you at a reduced price, there is far more chance of them buying again once they see the quality and finish of your products.

Go viral

The power as to whether something goes viral is out of your hands, but if you do something a bit different it could increase your chances. Whether it be a product that people find hilarious or a post or video that catches attention, it just takes the wave of post sharing to start and you never know what might happen.

Teaser ads

Teaser ads are a good idea particularly if you have a new product line coming. Post only small elements of the product with a coming soon strapline, or have followers try and guess what the product is. For a few weeks, post little but often to keep the buzz going. You might find that people are more inclined to share your posts when there is a level of interaction needed.

Local press

Getting your local press on board can make a difference to any business. Let them know what your business is all about, the vision you have, and the products or services that you offer. Letting people know a bit more about you and how your business came about can make for a good local headline. Running a competition with a prize for the winner, will not only attract more attention to your company but could sell increase newspaper sales too so it might be something that benefits them also.
