Is LA a good place to live? Here is what experts have to say

A lot of people from around the world dream of once settling in Los Angeles. The city is world-famous for its Hollywood sign or for being the hub of the entertainment industry.

It is home to some of the world’s best and crowded beaches and the party fever is on all round the clock throughout the year.

The trustworthy movers at imoving.com claim that Los Angeles is a city full of adventures and opportunities. There are so many cool things you can do in LA that you won’t get bored throughout your stay, and every moment spent in LA would be joyful. Most people here come to enjoy and find leisure rather than finding peace. You would easily find people of all generations be it young or old, you can find them both and hence socializing here is not a big deal.

Some of the main attractions in LA are:

♦ Food

If you’re a foodie then LA is heaven for you. It is brimmed with restaurants that serve most of the cuisines and is home to traditional food towns which only serve a specific cuisine of a country like Chinatown, Thai Town, Koreatown, and many other country foods is readily served with Asian authentic dishes mostly available everywhere. For instance, you could easily find any of those famous Food franchises like Dominos, KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, etc.

♦ Adventure and Sports

Whenever you visit a beach in LA you will find most of the people playing a sport around such as football and beach volley being most evident. LA is also a soft spot for all the surfers, you would find a lot of people surfing around the beaches mostly because of its favorable conditions. Being in Southern California you would also find a lot of people playing basketball around the bay area or even if you don’t play basketball it is always good to be a spectator around.

♦ Party Fever

LA is crowned with one of the best Nightlife in the world. Clubs and bars are always filled with crowds throughout the night. Just wait for the sun to set down and head to Culver City or Downtown LA where you would most of the famous bars like Echo Park and Silver Lake. Parties and Nightlife Don’t mostly revolve around alcohol a bowling alley at the Hollywood bowl which is a lot of fun and full of the crowd even at after hours

♦ Fashion and Shopping

It won’t be wrong to say that LA has the best fashion in the whole United States. With a lot of outlets and boutiques in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills mostly being in the West of the city. You can definitely anytime go out for just some window shopping and you wouldn’t get bored for sure. You could visit the Grove mall and would find some great stuff there. You could even visit the famous flea markets of LA and if the day is bright you might even find some great vintage goods too.

♦ Hiking

The mountainous landscape of Southern California is loud enough to call people to come there to hike. The most famous Runyon Canyon has one of the best sunsets around the States and is best for evening hikes. You could even visit the Griffith Park which is located around the Santa Monica Mountains where you would get to see the iconic Hollywood sign.

○ Safety and Quality of Life

Just like most big cities of the United States, Los Angeles also has a high crime rate when compared to other small cities. The higher crime rate does not define it as a dangerous city to live in, in fact, if you are smart enough and are aware of the surroundings you are living it is perfectly fine for you to settle there. Talking about the quality of life which majorly depends on the job opportunities you get there and the matter of fact getting a job in LA is not that difficult and you can easily crack a well-settled job which would basically make your life better and easy.

○ Choosing your Neighborhood

Even after LA being a big city and mostly spread out to sub-urban areas, good and reliable public transport is still missing here. There is a lack of metro and public buses hence making daily commute difficult, Unlike New York or San Francisco, where public transport for daily commuting is a lot easier, it’s not the case with Los Angeles.
The conclusion here comes out that if you are moving to LA then you must choose your neighborhood wisely. Sub-urban areas like Pasadena, Burbank, or The San Fernando Valley Would be best for you if you have to raise your kids as there are a lot of public and private schools in the proximity itself making it easier to commute for them too, and most of the businesses and offices around these areas it becomes the first choice of newly movers.
