Private Student Accommodation: Just What a Student Needs

A person’s education can be broadly categorized into two periods:

  • Basic Education: During this time, an individual starts from elementary school and continues their studies usually till eighteen, unless they drop in midway.
  • Higher Education: During this time, an individual ventures out into specialization courses in colleges and universities.

While almost all the places have an infrastructure for basic education, higher education facilities might not be available in ones’ hometown. Therefore, to pursue further studies ones’ areas of interests, students often flock out to such university towns.

This emigration to another place calls out a need to stay and lodge, thereby giving rise to the student accommodation requirements.

Generic Features of Student Residences

Apart from the small percentage of students from boarding schools, almost all of the students who attend university usually step out of their homes for the first time in their lives when they come down to another place to attend a college or university for higher studies. Hence, their accommodation needs careful planning.

The students’ residences need no fancy plans or interiors. All they need is a homely feeling of comfort.

Despite being basic, students’ halls of residences should have a sense of kinship and community feeling so that students are not lonely and in turn have a healthy academic session and subsequent performances. A traditional student accommodation usually has shared facilities like washrooms, kitchens, dining areas, lounges, etc. along with shared rooms as well.

However, with the advent of time, private and semi-private spaces are also becoming popular amongst students.

The rise of private student accommodation in Exeter

Exeter is a small county town in England and home to the famous University of Exeter. Despite having the university’s famous Halls of Residences, private student accommodation in Exeter has been on the rise, primarily because of two reasons:

  • The Exeter University Halls of Residence are filled in like hotcakes with the huge influx of students during the academic year, thereby leaving many students needling for space
  • Many students are now opting for their private spaces so that they can do their studies with a peaceful mind away from the chitchats of fellow students

There are multiples of accommodations available all around the town of Exeter for students. Depending on their choice of neighborhood, the students can choose from an array of accommodations available in the town. It is not only the choice of the neighborhood that these accommodations offer but also varieties in facilities like gyms, private kitchens, study rooms, personal bike parking spaces, meal systems, etc.

The most important factor for any kind of student accommodation is that of the rent. Reasonable rent is the primary ask of any student search for a place to say. Flexibility in stay extension without any additional expenses and cancellation facilities are also important aspects a student seeks in their accommodations.

Exeter student houses are one of the most reasonably priced facilities, where students can enjoy a carefree stay concentrating only on their studies.
